Microsoft Corporation accepts Bitcoin payment for Mobile and Xbox content

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) recently reported that users can now utilize the cryptocurrency Bitcoin to make purchases from the Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox Games, Xbox Music, and Xbox Video stores. Apart from what service has been reported by Microsoft, users will not be able to utilize the Bitcoin to buy other Microsoft services and products yet.
The announcement came after company’s collaboration with BitPay, the largest global Bitcoin payment service provider based in Atlanta, Georgia. Users can take funds from their Bitcoin wallets, convert them into dollars and use it to make purchases. Both the companies are yet to make a formal announcement on the details of the partnership.

However, Microsoft gave out instructions on its ‘billing help’ pages for users who want to know how they can add money to their Microsoft account using Bitcoin. As of now, the feature doesn’t allow direct payments in Bitcoin, so users must convert the currency into dollars before they can use it.

Microsoft reiterated that users can only add $100 at a time when using Bitcoins. Also, the company advises reviewing your transaction before paying since the added money cannot be refunded back. Support for adding money to Microsoft account with Bitcoin is currently limited to United States only.

When the services turns out to be a beneficial payment alternative, the organization will reveal the gimmick around the world. As in the initial stage, company approaches users to sit tight for the couple of hours before inquiring as to whether they confront any troubles.
